  • Photography from LIFE Magazine.
Photography from LIFE Magazine. November 21st, 2008 by omar This week, Google teamed up with LIFE Magazine to make the publication?s entire image archive available online. That means that millions of photos, most they say have never actually been published, are now fully searchable. Caribbean life is, of course, well represented. Check out a few of the shots I found below? To search the archives for more, click here. spotted over at Antilles: the weblog of the CRB. Tags: Albert

  • Twenty Four
As promised a few months ago, I?ve mounted my picture frame on the wall and put twenty four, 4 x 6?s in the frame. After spending nearly 5 hours sorting through photos, buying paper and mounting the frame, I decided that I?ve already devoted most of the daylight hours to doing this blog post. It has been a long journey, but I?ve come through. I?ve posted some shots of the frame in action and filled with fun 4 x 6?s. While looking through Aperture I had a chance to reflect upon images that I ha
  • Palestinians in Lebanon: Chatila pt.1
I spent a month in Lebanon earlier this year, from mid-August to mid-September, working on a project in four of the dozen Palestinian refugee camps in the country. I photographed in two of the three Beirut camps, Chatila and Bourj El-Barajne, as well as well Beddawi and Nahr El-Bared, near Tripoli. It?s taken me quite a while to work on the image, just to get scanned and so on, but now I can finally start sharing them here. I did quite a lot of writing during the trip, interviews and such, and
  • print job by tazi2010
I have had the design of an Indian sweets box created, so design is not needed only printing. I just need to get it printed at the best price. It needs to be: full colour 350gsm card embossed? (Budget: $250-750, Jobs: Copywriting, Graphic [...]
  • Occupational hazards
I'm heading out to the girls' horse-riding school this afternoon to take photos of the Manager's daughter as she teaches her Saturday afternoon adult riders class.  I gather she contributes to a horse instructor's website and she wants some images of herself in action.  It's about ten degrees celcius out there, with winds up to 90km/hr, rain and the possibility of an afternoon hail storm.  I like to suffer for my art. I'll post some pictures later.  If they turn out OK.

Wow this was an epic gig, I don?t know how to describe it just yet so hold onto your horses and simply enjoy this taser shot for now! I?m really tired but will try and process these photos like a motherbitch for you guys to share But yeah, look forward to the slightly massive rant about travelling to ally pally, water fountain action, an abundance of confetti, and some good old CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (noone gets me haha). stuff you might also like Andrew Bird
  • Adrienne and Randy
Adrienne and Randy were an amazingly fun couple. For their engagement shoot, we decided to meet at our studio, jump in the car and take in some of our favorite places to shoot. The first place we visited was a local garden in the neighborhood. Then we went downtown and walked around, stopped for coffee and ended our day at the Long Center. I would say that love was surely in the air. The wedding will take place in Houston in the spring and we both look forward to it. If Adrienne and Randy's gue

Things are surprisingly well. For once, I feel [...]
  • Digital Camera Technology
Digital cameras have advanced enormously in the last few years with many clever features incorporated into them; as a result some people are often sold the wrong type. If you were to buy a digital camera tomorrow, what functions would you want to see it have as standard? To help you make this decision some hints and tips are discussed below. Before you consider anything else, ask yourself what you want the camera for. Are you someone with a general interest in taking snap-shots or do have a s
  • Settling Auto Accident Without Involving Insurance Companies
Traditional cameras use photographic film to capture images but were restricted to a small number of shots before the film had to be replaced; a situation which does not affect a digital camera. Digital cameras can also be considerably smaller as they do not need a film chamber. Many types of electronic equipment can now read the images on the storage cards used to capture the pictures. This computer language is called pixels, tiny colored dots represented by ones and zeros that make up the pic

  • Senior Portraits 2009 | Kaela
Senior Portraits 2009 | Kaela November 21, 2008 by moorephoto Happy Friday! Here is the FULL blog post from Kaela?s session. We rocked one of my favorite urban locations that has endless options for great colorful backgrounds! Kaela had so many awesome outfits, and we had such beautiful light, I couldn?t help but shoot them all (which made it even harder to choose my favorites!) Kaela is super sweet, and a natural in front of the camera. **SENIORS** +Make sure you submit your photo to the
  • Photography Homework - Last Class
Last week the whole class went together on a photography "field trip" to downtown Duncan and here are the photos I finished for the final class of our course. Generally speaking, I don't feel really enjoy taking pictures of buildings. Mostly they're square and boring. And there's always crap in the way like hydro wires, parked cars, garbage cans, distracting window reflections, ugly signs, and dirt. Also, the buildings in a town or city are all packed in close together so you can't get far eno
  • Say What? Cow Photo
Here's a new photo (copyrighted, so don't use it for anything but this exercise) from last weekend. It looks pretty simple, but I wanted to go into some background on it. I looked a long time for cows in a setting like this. Rural, of course, along the road without a lot of fencing so it was easy to shoot under the electric fence. I find it difficult these days to even find cows. This cow wasn't afraid of me, while others in the herd ran away. The light was right. I've shot cow photos before
